Ixchel Betancourt
Flute
Ixchel Betancourt is a flutist and saxophonist who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Jazz Performance from Texas A&M–Kingsville in 2022, and her Master’s in Jazz Performance (saxophone) from Texas State University in 2024. She has performed with a wide range of ensembles, including jazz ensembles, flute and saxophone choirs, marching band, and salsa groups, and has appeared at TMEA, the Texas Jazz Festival, and the Eddie Durham Jazz Festival. Ixchel has shared the stage with Terrell Stafford and opened for the Duke Ellington Jazz Orchestra, and has performed at venues such as Parker’s Jazz Club in Austin.
